The Real Property Institute of Canada (RPIC) is pleased to invite you to its third National Workshop on marine infrastructure, which will be held in Ottawa (ON) on January 9 and 10, 2018.

Our Workshop is gaining in maturity, growing in popularity (we sold out in 2016!) and is distinguished by its uniqueness in the landscape of professional development in Canada. For the third edition, we continue to build on the successes and lessons learned from previous Workshops. Our goal is to provide you with a rich experience and a world-class program, in an environment that encourages learning, networking and creating business opportunities. Because of this, the Workshop program is renewed and reinvented with every event to better meet your expectations. The technical sessions and special events have been designed for you.

The 2018 program will include the following topics:

  • Port Planning and Operation;
  • Port and Harbor Engineering;
  • Canals and Waterways;
  • Environmental Science; and,
  • Technology and Innovation.

The program will include renowned speakers and decision-makers who will talk to you about major issues, opportunities and vision for the future. Keep in mind that they are also there to listen to you. Show up, be engaged and share your thoughts.

Scientific research and innovation are key to successful and sustainable maritime infrastructures. We will be taking advantage of the Workshop being in Ottawa to visit the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) facilities.

In addition to the technical programming, we will be continuing the awards program and recognize individuals or groups who have distinguished themselves through their work and commitment to the marine infrastructure community. The development of a scholarship program is also in the works with awards for college and university students being planned.

We are very proud to welcome you to the National Capital of Canada. This dynamic city has a rich history in its waterways, with the Rideau Canal being recognized in 2007 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 2018 Organizing Committee is very pleased to present this Workshop. We hope you will join us and contribute to the success of the third RPIC Marine Infrastructure National Workshop.

Welcome to Ottawa!
