Welcome

Season’s greetings to the real property community!

Much has happened since I last checked in with an update at the beginning of November, and I’m pleased to share some new RPIC developments before we all enjoy some well-deserved relaxation and rest over the holidays.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Clayton Truax and Cynthia Tremblay, our workshop co-chairs, and their organizing committee for a highly successful 2021 Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop! The event took place from November 15 to 18 and attracted 527 participants, who gathered virtually to learn about a diverse range of timely topics relevant to the assessment, remediation, and management of federal contaminated sites.

Well done to all those involved, and thank you to all who participated.

I’d also like to extend a huge thank you to our event partners. These workshops would not be possible without you and, as always, we appreciate your role in enabling RPIC to deliver top-class training events to the community.

Stay tuned for updates on our 2022 RPIC programming.

The closing of the Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop marks the end of our program offerings for 2021, but RPIC is already turning its attention to 2022 with the aim to ensure that we continue offering valuable professional development and learning experiences in the new year.

Stay tuned to hear about our program offerings in the 2022 calendar, which will include virtual workshops, webinars, PD Days, and breakfast/lunch and learn sessions.

The RPIC website and re-branding project is underway.

As part of its overall rebranding project, RPIC is developing a new and improved logo and tagline. The colours, design, and messaging will all be selected to ensure that the final product best encapsulates the vision and values of the real property community.

Speaking of the new year, something else you can look forward to in the coming months is the launch of our new website! It will reflect a more contemporary look and feel, and will reflect elements of the new RPIC brand. Launch is set for early 2022!

Read RPIC’s Summary of the Speech from the Throne.

Many of you will be aware that the federal Speech from the Throne was delivered in late November, but are you also aware that RPIC has undertaken an analysis of the Speech and highlighted points of interest for our community?

Thank you, and happy holidays!

As we approach the New Year, I would like to take this opportunity to look back on all that we have accomplished since January. We have held three successful national workshops, undertaken a large project to improve RPIC’s overall brand, and offered various other opportunities for the continuation of our community’s growth and professionalization.

None of this would have been possible without the strength and support of our professional community and the commitment of our board members and other volunteers. I offer my heartfelt gratitude to you all, and hope that we can all return in 2022 feeling rested and refocused.

Happy Holidays,

Sincerely,

Jean-François Robert
