  • one from one of the federal government's leaders in shaping the federal workplace of the future,  Sonia Powell, Director General, Workplace Solutions, Public Services and Procurement Canada. Sonia is also an RPIC Board Member; and,
  • Debbie Baxter, Partner, Deloitte Real Estate Advisory, who is a leading expert on the topic of Activity Based Work environments.

Sonia will lead a discussion on productivity - its meaning - and on the workplace as one of the enabling tools to increase it. She will speak to how the a new vision for the workplace, called GCworkplace, and the design solutions it proposes ultimately support Public Services and Procurement Canada’s client organisations’ productivity levels and how these will be measured moving forward.

Debbie will also present on productivity with a focus on Smart Buildings and the technology solutions that allow us to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of our work environments and the impact on doing business.

The issue of workplace performance and workforce productivity are important dimensions for the entire federal real property community, one that guides our strategies and decisions. The Q & A and networking portions of the session will provide opportunity for you to ask questions or share experiences in dealing with the concept of productivity in the workplace and the challenges we sometimes face in measuring it.
